This painting is inspired by the canopy of trees in the woodland where I live in the UK. I am very inspired by the effects of natural light within wooded places at different phases of day and night. The refracted light that ricochets around the trees creates a diaphanous filigree of intricate patterns and the trees themselves make uniquely shaped windows to the sky in the negative spaces between them.

This painting is 38 x 46 cm and 2 cm in depth.

It has been made on excellent quality, acid-free, 100% linen cloth which is professionally primed to take oil paint. The stretcher is a light weight pine wood. The paints themselves are blended with organic oils and natural glazes which are designed to last through the ages, and which keep the paint looking radiant and full of lustre.
