Mindful Pregnancy & Birth

 

Approaching pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood with the openness that mindfulness can bring, enables us to build and establish greater resilience to meet whatever we encounter in our unfolding journey into parenthood.

But undertaking a practice such as this, which is so different in attitude to life in the modern world, can be a challenge in itself, and it can be really helpful to have the support of a group to share and practice with.

Writing ‘Mindful Pregnancy & Birth’ has inspired me to create an online forum to share with you the practical essence of the book in a virtual, experiential form. The Mindful Mama Circle is a virtual space for mothers and mothers-to-be to share, connect and meditate together.

It provides a supportive space for women to gather ‘virtually’ in pregnancy and new motherhood, to lean-in and connect with others and be guided through mindfulness meditations. This group invites participants to share in their own journeys and be heard within the compassionate ‘holding’ of this circle.

During pregnancy and motherhood we at times find ourselves in extreme places both internally and in our lives, at all hours of the day and night. It is an important time to stay connected with other mothers who are having a shared experience and can feel empathy and offer open-hearted support.

Sometimes we just need to be witnessed, or to witness another with compassion, for whatever we might be struggling with to shift, or to gain insight We may long to celebrate our pregnancies and motherhood journeys and to recognise the caring community of women around us. The intention of the Mindful Mama Circle is to enable participants to experience this sense of healing, kindness and connection on the path to birth and beyond.

The overall aim of the Mindful Mama Circle is simply to share, to meditate, to ask questions, to be inspired or to inspire each other, and to BE together.
